Types of EV Charging Stations for Home Owners
Level 1

Charge your vehicle using your home’s standard 120-volt outlet. Level 1 EV chargers require no electrical updates, making the overall cost very low. Vehicles will typically charge at roughly 7 kms of range per hour under level 1 charging. This is may suitable for plug-in hybrid vehicles but is not ideal for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV’s).

Level 2

A faster charging option, Level 2 EV charging stations provide about 50 kms of range per hour of charging. Depending on your existing electrical service, integration can be relatively straight forward. It uses a dedicated 240-volt household electrical connection and can be installed outside your home or in your garage.
